Dear Dr. Jay Lee,

My name is CJ Perea, and I am a first-year student at NMHU majoring in Exercise Science. I hope this message finds you well. As I begin my college journey, I’ve developed a strong interest in Exercise Science and a genuine curiosity about how the human body functions, adapts, and improves through training and rehabilitation. This field motivates me because I enjoy learning how movement, strength, and proper conditioning can transform a person’s health.

One of my long-term career goals is to pursue physical therapy. I’ve always been drawn to understanding how injuries happen, how they heal, and how targeted exercises can help someone get back to doing what they love. The idea of helping people regain mobility, reduce pain, and rebuild confidence is meaningful to me. I hope to someday work with athletes or individuals recovering from injuries, using evidence-based techniques to support their progress.

Beyond academics, I’m excited to get more involved on campus, participate in events, and connect with other students and faculty in the department. I value learning from people with experience, and I want to take advantage of any opportunities that can help me grow—whether it’s volunteering, research, shadowing, or joining clubs related to health and fitness.

As I begin this path, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or recommendations you may have. Whether it’s advice about classes, study strategies, internships, or steps I should take early on to prepare for a career in physical therapy, I am eager to learn from your expertise. I want to make the most of my time at NMHU and set a strong foundation for my future in the field.

Thank you for your time and for everything you do for students in the department. I am excited for the years ahead and look forward to continuing to grow both academically and personally as I work toward my goals.

Sincerely,
CJ Perea
